Lawrence Kohn, Ed.D.
Lawrence Kohn is a Founding Partner and CEO of Leadership Partners, roles he has held since December 2016. Prior to this, he served as Director of Programs and Evaluation for the Rice Education Entrepreneurship Program (REEP), where he collaborated with Executive Education in the Jones Graduate School of Business to design and deliver business-based leadership development for school leaders. He also led research and program evaluation efforts for REEP’s nationally recognized model. Lawrence joined REEP in 2012.
Lawrence currently teaches assessment in the Master of Arts in Teaching program at Rice University and has also taught doctoral courses in education at the University of Houston. His work bridges research and practice, with a focus on leadership development, assessment, professional learning communities, and school redesign.
Before entering higher education, Lawrence served as a tenure-track professor in Curriculum and Instruction at Sam Houston State University, where he coordinated the secondary teacher preparation program. His K–12 leadership experience includes serving as the founding principal of Atascocita High School in Humble ISD, principal of Quest High School (now Quest Early College High School), and as an English teacher.
He is a published author of multiple articles and book chapters and has received numerous recognitions, including the Excellence in Teaching Award from the SHSU College of Education and being named Outstanding Doctoral Student of the Year at the University of Houston. He also served as a Commissioner for the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development’s Commission on the Whole Child.
Lawrence earned his doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction, his Master of Education in Historical, Social, and Cultural Foundations, and his Bachelor of Arts in English.
